Designed for my exhibition in the Stock Exchange building in Hong Kong, and opened by Lord Patten, this piece was acquired by the late John Bryan for the collection at Crab Tree Farm, Illinonis. A play on the number 3 - the bottom drawers of this cabinet are three times as deep as the top ones, and the wide drawers three times the width of the small ones. The ‘open’ structure enables each drawer to be seen from all sides. They have central guides to ensure smooth running.
Materials: English wild cherry wood, burr elm, cedar drawer linings, hornbeam runners and bronze handles Circa: 1996
