We made two rosewood chairs for a client in the UK, who agreed to our making a second pair of Millennium chairs in English holly.  Each component is comprised of up to 40 consecutive veneers enabling them to flex into the complex three-dimensional curves that support and embrace the sitter/body.  These were then spliced together to achieve the flowing lines.

Both chairs were shown in the USA where two curators of major collections asked if I would mind them being separated.  One chair is in the permanent collection of the Arts Institute, Chicago, and the other is in an Italian private collection.

Materials: English holly and leather  Circa: 1991
