Early discussions revealed the client's love of natural textures, like that of washed oak.   The organic shape, derived from what is easily visible and within reach, accommodates desk accessories below the sliding writing surface and extensive storage to hand.  The textures of the burr oak and the oak structural components contrast with those associated with finely polished classical furniture.
